Making the Artwork

Once I get the plywood shapes which will form the backing for each of the enamelled plaques. The first job is to smooth the edges using fine sandpaper.

 
The reverse is sealed with clear varnish.

 The front face is painted with two coats of primer/undercoat and sanded gently.

The final part of this stage is to apply two coats of gold paint.
